I was looking forward to this book, but found it a huge disappointment. I won't repeat myself, you can read my review at http://www.perlmonks.com/?node_id=539727

Why would you waste time talking about this book, other than to warn people away?

Again, the same old potshots at CGI.pm. First, it autoloads, so if you don't use something, you're not paying the penalty to define it. Second, not even Lincoln uses the OO interface, and recent doucumentation emphasizes the standard imported-subroutines interface. Third, unless you use the HTML-generation facilities, you lose the sticky-field form generation, which is a real asset for simple response forms. And even if you know HTML, you'll have to manually deal with a lot of escaping for included parameters, or you'll be subject to cross-site-scripting attacks, which CGI.pm mostly insulates you from.

So, don't diss CGI.pm without understanding how to use it better!
